Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren, Stacked is a weekly post where I share with you the books that I've bought, borrowed or received for the week.
Hello! I hope you're all having a great weekend. We have some crazy rain here in SoCal and I've just been trying to stay dry and away from crazy drivers this weekend. So I feel off the proverbial book wagon this week. My friend Kimberly from The Windy Pages and I decided to make the rainy trek to Huntington Beach on Saturday to go to a big romance writers signing. Among the authors there were Ruthie Knox, Tiffany Reisz (!!), Christina Lauren, Sylvia Day and Katy Evans. I'll have a recap the event soon. But of course I could not leave without buying some books. I mean, I couldn't, right? I also picked up a few books on my e-reader for review.
For Review
Sublime by Christina Lauren - I love the Beautiful Bastard series and was excited to see that I was pre-approved for this on Edelweiss. Looks very different from BB but looking forward to it.
The Game and the Governess by Kate Noble - I was not sure about this one but then read that the writer is one of the writers on The Lizzie Bennett Diaries, which I love, so I grabbed it.
The Here and Now by Ann Brashares - I actually haven't read any Ann Brashares before but I've heard good things and this looks like it could be interesting.
Bought
Ward of Death by Melanie Card - Been meaning to read this one and Nomalicious Reads just reviewed the second book, prompting me to finally just buy it on my Kindle.
Tsarina by Jackson Pearson - This one just came out this week and I could not resist that cover. How pretty is it? Love.
Real by Katy Evans (signed) - As I said above, I went to a big book signing this weekend. I had not heard of Evans before this but she was extremely popular at the signing and I decided to pick up the first book in her Real series to check it out. Looks pretty hot.
Wallbanger by Alice Clayton (signed) - Have heard so many good things about Clayton and this book. Looks like a fun, sexy read.
Loving Cara by Kristen Proby (signed) - Another new to me author who was very popular at the signing. This one looked like fun and you can't beat that mass market paperback price.
I also bought a few copies of books I already owned by Tiffany Reisz and Christina Lauren for myself and giveaways. I was glad to find some new authors and talk to them all. It was a great event. What books have you stashed this week? :)
Great stack this week. The cover for Tsarina is awesome. I think book signing purchase don't count as "buying books" it's "supporting the author" ;)
