Uncovered (64): The 100

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a good week. I ate about 3 pounds of sugar (in baked goods) yesterday, so the week hasn't been too bad. :) This week on Uncovered, I have a book I just found out about called The 100 by Kass Morgan.  I really like this cover. It looks very sci-fi but with a romantic element. I love this effect where there is an image within the text silhouette. I think it's just really cool and a little unusual for a book cover. I also like that there are really distinct images in each letter/number and that they all give a little clue as to what the book is about. It makes me want to see the whole picture or at least a closer look at it. If you haven't heard of this book yet, check out the synopsis below.

In the future, humans live in city-like spaceships orbiting far above Earth's toxic atmosphere. No one knows when, or even if, the long-abandoned planet will be habitable again. But faced with dwindling resources and a growing populace, government leaders know they must reclaim their homeland...before it's too late.

Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents are being sent on a high-stakes mission to recolonize Earth. After a brutal crash landing, the teens arrive on a savagely beautiful planet they've only seen from space. Confronting the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community. But they're haunted by their past and uncertain about the future. To survive, they must learn to trust-and even love-again.

Teens, spaceships and a dangerous and unknown planet - doesn't this sound awesome? Unfortunately this one doesn't come out until September. Anyone else plan on picking up The 100 this fall?

Have a great weekend, everyone!
