Here's a little sneak peek of my book this week. Can you guys guess what it is?
If you guessed The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd, then you're right! If you read my Sunday haul post you will remember that I checked out this book from the library last week. I decided to start it over the weekend and am making good progress. So far it's pretty creepy and dark, which I enjoy.
On my nails is Illamasqua Scarab, a beautiful burnt brown red. It's kind of a hard shade to explain but it seems to glow on my nails and is soooo pretty. I love Illamasqua and was lucky to find a bunch of their polish on sale this weekend. I think scarabs are pretty gross bugs in general. I don't know what it is about them but they totally creep me out. At the very beginning of The Madman's Daughter, the author actually mentions beetles and other bugs crawling around which made me think of this shade. It also matches the belt on the cover quite well. This cover is so pretty, too. Definitely one of my recent faves.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week, everyone!
That scarab polish is gorgeous! Goes great with the gothic look of Madman's Daughter.
ReplyDeleteLove the MM graphic too :)
ooh gaawgeous color! Definitely a burnt brown red. I was thinking more crimson then an actual red. Looks great though. And totally matches the belt. EEEK Bugs... eeeeekkk no.. lol. Not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of The Madman's Daughter but it looks interesting and the cover is gawgeous.

I love the idea behind this meme! I'm obsessed with mani love at the moment, so I'll definitely be taking part next week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour, sadly we don't have Illamasqua here in Australia, but it's definitely a polish I want to get my grubbies on! I wouldn't mind reading that book either, I've heard really good things! =D
