Stacked (79)

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you all remembered to turn your clocks back an hour and are enjoying the extra time this morning.

This week I went to the Markus Zusak signing at B&N The Grove earlier this week and bought a couple of his books. It was a really great event and Markus is Australian, cute and an awesome author, and we all had a good time. Hopefully I'll get a recap of that up soon. I also decided to go to Comikaze yesterday, which is a comic convention in LA that started a few years ago. It's nowhere the size of Comic Con but it's local and it is definitely growing. I picked up a bunch of comics and things from the event and can't wait to start reading.

Borrowed

First up are a couple of book I got from the library. I have been wanting to read both Reality Boy and Vicious and was excited to see them. Vicious is actually a 7 day loan so I started it but have been too tired this week to get very far. Hoping I read more this weekend.

Bought

I am in the middle of reading The Book Thief right now but also picked up I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak. I got a chance to go to a screening of The Book Thief movie this week as well (it was a Book Thief week!) and really enjoyed it. I am only in the middle of the book right now but it's really good. If you get a chance to see Markus speak you should definitely go.

Next up is my Comikaze haul.

Lazarus by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark - This one caught my eye and I hadn't heard of it before. Comic shop guy said I would like it if I like strong, female characters. Sold!

Blacksad by Juan Diaz Canales and Juajno Guarnido - This one looked interesting and had some really cool artwork. Features characters that are animals but is a noir story.

Saga Vol 2 by Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples - Bought Vol1 back at Comic Con and picked up Vol 2 at a discount. I have to start reading this soon. I hear it's amazing.

Kabuki Dreams Vol 2 by David Mack - David Mack is one of my favorite comic writers/artists. I have this one in softcover already but this is a hardcover copy.

Revival Vol 1 by Tim Seeley, Mike Norton and Mark Englert - I wanted this at  SDCC but they were sold out. Glad to have found it at Comikaze.

I also picked up this art book by David Mack yesterday. I could not find a Goodreads link but you can probably find it on the internets if you so wish. It's full of really great art and process pieces like what you see below.

Aahhh so gorgeous!  So that's my book haul for this week. hope you all had a good weekend. What's in your mailbox?
