Happy Sunday, everyone!. I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I've had a pretty eventful week with plans almost every night. Also had the first meeting of Book Club (first rule of Book Club - don't talk about Book Club. Wait, that doesn't work.) and discussed the book A Discovery of Witches. I still have to finish my review but it was a good read. And Sat I went to the LA Festival of books where I picked up a few goodies. Read on to see what ended up in my mailbox this week. :)

Borrowed

My Sweet Mexico by Fany Gerson - This is a really lovely looking book about Mexican sweets and pastries. I've looked at it before and finally picked it up at the library this week.

Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet #1) by Julia Quinn - I have heard really good things about this one. I don't think I have read any Julia Quinn before and I was glad when I spotted this at the library.

Bought

Colors by Pantone - I am a sucker for all things Pantone and could not resist this cute looking picture book at the book fest this weekend.

Oddfellows Orphanage by Emily Winfred Martin - I am a fan of Emily's artwork and actually had this on NetGalley way back when. But it could only be read on Adobe Digital Editions and I had the worst laptop back then and never managed to finish it. Picked it up at a bookstore closing sale this week. I am a little disappointed to see that the illustrations are in black and white but we'll see.

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness - OK so this wasn't new but I did get signed by Deborah this weekend.

The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour - Nina was signing at the book festival this weekend along with Gayle Foreman and Stephanie Perkins. I've been wanting to read her book for awhile now so it was great to pick up a copy. Nina was super sweet and adorable and cannot wait to read it!

Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys - I keep hearing amazing this about this book and saw that it just came out in paperback. It is now MINE.

Deathless by Catherine M. Valente - Another one I picked up at the store closing sale. I've been eyeing this cover for awhile now, too, and snatched it up for half price.

Trolls In The Hamptons by Celia James - I am a fan of Dan Dos Santos and seen this cover around. I decided to pick it up when I spotted it at the Mysterious Galaxy Booth this weekend. I was intrigued by the idea of a female graphic novelist. And trolls.

In My Mailbox (28): An Eclectic Mix

Keeping it relatively light this week. Most of my week has been consumed with finishing A Discovery of Witches for my book club meeting next week. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to finish the 600 page behemoth of a book with only 10 days til the meeting. Luckily I really like the book and zoomed through most of it last weekend. I only have about 7% left to go.

The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters - I've heard good things about this. I have never read a Sarah Waters book before.

Delicacy by David Foekinos - Another one I don't know much about except that it's the basis for a new Audrey Tatou movie and I love her.

Trial By Fire by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - This is the second book in the series and I have to admit that I haven't read the first book yet. I do have it in HC though.

Worth Any Price (Bow Street Runners #3) by Lisa Kleypas - Third book in her Bow Street series. Which reminds me that I need to write my review for book two...

For Review 

Ruined by Rumor by Alyssa Everett- Both Alethea and I are big fans of Alyssa's last book, A Tryst With Trouble (see A's review here), and I was super excited to see her new book on NetGalley this week. Unfortunately the publisher of Tryst is going through some financial troubles right now so the release has been pushed back indefinitely. But she's a great writer and I am looking forward to this. Keep an eye out on the blog for my review and an interview of Alyssa about Tryst soon.

Happy Easter weekend, everyone! Do you have Easter plans this weekend? I am not really into the whole Easter thing so I may take myself out to a movie tomorrow. It sucks that so many places are closed on Easter. I do want to get some Easter candy before it's all gone, though.:) Good book week for me. Still trying not to buy too many and finish my NetGalley titles. I also have some book events coming up this month so I want to save my money for them. The library is great, as usual, for finding new books.

Where Things Come Back by Corey Whaley - I have heard great things about this one and Corey is actually coming for a library visit in my town with Maggie Stiefvater in a few weeks.

Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs - Don't know much about this one but I liked the premise and cool cover.

The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith - I've been trying to get this one for ages from the library. So happy it finally came in.

Baking From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan - I can never get enough cookbooks. :)

For Review 

Little Brown tweeted last week about having extra ARCS of  Belles, Purity, The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict and Drowned Cities.  I sent them a quick email in the hopes of getting in before they ram out and these came about a week later. Awesome, right? I am most looking forward to Purity and Drowned Cities.

Ashen Winter (Ashfall #2) by Mike Mullin - I just finished Ashfall and was excited to see the sequel on NetGalley.

Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard - Historical fiction with zombies! I am so down with this.

Velveteen by Daniel Marks - One of my favorite books as a kid was The Velveteen Rabbit, which is why this book caught my eye. Story good though as I always like a good revenge story.

Received

Lover Reborn!!!! by JR Ward - *Long story alert* I was on the library waitlist for this but it was taking FOREVER to get a copy even though I was super high on the list. Meanwhile I am dying every day watching people read it on Goodreads and twitter. Finally my friend (who was also waiting for her library hold) said enough was enough and she decided to buy Kindle copies for me and my other friend. Then I bought her a copy. So now we all have copies. :) I stayed up until 5:30am on Thursday reading it and finished it Friday afternoon. Totally worth the $14.99. (note - i only didn't want to buy it in hardback because the rest of my series in in pb. I will buy it later this year when it comes out in pb.)

The Abandoned (Graveyard Queen #0.5) & The Restorer (Graveyard Queen #1) by Amanda Stevens - My friend Kimberly over at The Windy Pages recently read and become a bit obsessed with this mystery series. The prequel novella was free on Amazon Kindle last week and I picked up the first book in ebook format as well.

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa - I was so excited when this showed on on NetGalley. It looks great and I can't wait to read it.

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a fabulous Sunday. My mailbox this week is kind of big. I missed last week's IMM because I was out partying it up at WonderCon. I am going to try to do a recap of the event at some point. I did have a lot of fun though and got into some great panels and only bought a few books. This week's haul is courtesy of the Dark Days event that happened a couple of weeks ago (recap here) and WonderCon. I was too lazy to do links this week. Once Upon A Scandal by Delilah Marvelle - I've seen Marvell's name around and I am always looking for some good historical romance and figured I'd give this a try.

Fateful by Claudia Gray - I almost bought this at Dark Days but opted for another book of hers instead. So glad I found it at the library.

Between the Sea and the Sky by Jaclyn Dolamore - Another library find. I've been wanting to read this.
Pure by Julianne Baggott - This is a 7 day loan so I better read it fast!
Nine Rules To Break When Romancing A Rake by Sarah MacLean (ebook) - This was and excellent historical romance. Review coming soon.
Alpha & Omega by Patricia Briggs (ebook) - I love Patricia Briggs and need to catch up on this series before the next Mercy Thompson book comes out.

World War Z by Max Brooks - Purchased at WonderCon after hearing Max speak. My copy disappeared long ago so I got a new one and had him sign it. 

Balthazar by Claudia Gray - This is what I got from Claudia at Dark Days. She even drew me a vampire piggy (don't ask).

Leisl & Po by Lauren Oliver - Another Dark Days purchase. I've been dying to read this one.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline - I saw Ernest's panel at WonderCon and he was great. Got this signed at the Mysterious Galaxy booth.

Rainshadow Road & Christmas Eve At Lucky Harbor by Lisa Kleypas - Managed to win this during the Kisses, Corets & Kleypas giveaway hop. Super excited because I love Lisa Kleypas.

I also got a bunch of free comics and some purchased comics at WonderCon. Too lazy to list them all here but hopefully you'll be seeing some reviews for them on the blog soon. I love comics and hope to review more of them. Hope everyone is safe and warm this Sunday afternoon!

Taking A Shot (Play By Play #3) by Jaci Burton - I am a fan of this series. I mean, look at this cover! Unfortunately I bought the ebook because I couldn't wait so I didn't actually get this gorgeous cover. I will probably end up buying the paperback at some point. Just heard that Burton will be writing more books in this series so I have more man candy covers to look forward to.

Soulless & Changeless by Gail Carriger - I know, I know. Why haven't I read this series yet? I am not sure why. The covers are awesome and so is the premise. I hope to start this series soon.

What I was most excited about getting this week though wasn't a book, though it was book related. It was the China Glaze Hunger Games nail polish collection. I ordered the whole set online last week and it came on Friday. I spent Sat morning trying on all of the colors. You guys probably don't know it but I am a huge nail polish geek and was so excited about this collection. Keep an eye out on our YA site, Read Now Sleep Later, next week. I'll be posting swatches of all of the colors and then we're going to have a giveaway where you can win some nail polish.

Stop Snoring, Bernard by Zachariah Ohora - Um, there's an otter on the cover. A really cute one.

Me...Jane by Patrick McDonnell - I've actually read this already but I loved it and wanted to read it again. Picture book about Jane Goodall that is super sweet and inspiring.

My Tattooed Dad by Daniel Nesquens & Magicomora - I have no idea what this is about but I loved the cover.

This week was a light week for me. Still trying to stick with books I own or have borrowed from friends. I returned a bunch of library books I never got to and resisted the urge to go in and look at new books. I even went to two three author events this week in bookstores and manged to only purchase a couple of things. So far, so good. :) On to the books!

Fever by Lauren DeStefano - I was going to wait a little while to buy this but Alethea went and bought it while we were at an event, and I had a coupon. I couldn't resist.

Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer - Went to the Breathless Tour stop at Once Upon A Time last. It was super crowded but super fun. I restrained myself and only bought one book.

All I Want Is You by Sherrill Bodine - My friend Kimberly gave this to me. We often pass books back and forth and she just read this one. I don't think she loved it but I guess we'll see how I feel about it.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan - I won this from Book Goonie last week! Really been wanting to read this one. It's got zombies!

Gluten Free Cookies by Roben Ryberg - I've been meaning to try some more gluten free recipes since I have a lot of friends who can't eat it now. I think of it as a baking challenge. This book had some pretty good reviews.

Fool Moon (Dresden Files #2) by Jim Butcher (audiobook) - I just finished Storm Front and I really like the audio. James Marsters is a great Harry Dresden.

I hope everyone had a good week. It was really dragging for me and I am so happy that we have Monday off. I am going to try to get a lot of reading done this weekend. I have some catching up to do before a couple of book tours come to town next week. This week was pretty light for me. I am still trying to read books I own and have cut back on the library and buying. Edited: Um, so I went to the used bookstore and B&N on Sat and came home with a bunch of books. Guess this week wasn't so light. :)

Delirium by Lauren Oliver - Yes, I am one of the few people who have not read Delirium yet. I want to read it soon since Pandemonium is coming out.

Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent (audiobook) - I had at least 4 Audible credits doing nothing in my account and decided to download some audiobooks. A friend said that this was a good one on audio and I've been meaning to read it anyway.

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness (audiobook) - Another audiobook that a friend highly recommended. Jason Isaacs reads.

The Mediator #1 & #2 by Meg Cabot - Found the first two books in this series for $0.50 each at the used bookstore. We'll see if I like it enough to get the rest.

Smooth Talking Stranger (Travises #3) by Lisa Kleypas - $1 at the used bookstore. I haven't started this series yet but, when I do, I will have book 3 all ready for me.

Devil In Winter (Wallflowers #3) by Lisa Kleypas - Can you sense a theme? Yes, I may be obsessed with Lisa Kleypas. I am dying to read book #1 of the Wallflowers series. I will probably get it on my kindle.

Stray by Rachel Vincent - Another series I've been meaning to start and only $3.50 at the store.

River Marked by Patricia Briggs - I love the Mercy Thompson series! This just came out in paperback and I had to get it for my collection.

After The Golden Age by Carrie Vaughn - I totally bought this just because of the cover. I mean the synopsis sounds good, too, but I picked it up based solely on the cover.

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong - I've been wanting to start this series for awhile now. Thank you, library!

Fire by Kristen Cashore - I know. I know. I haven't even read Graceling yet but this became available in my library's ebook database and I had to snatch it up. Hopefully I will start Graceling soon.

Pride and Popularity by Jenni James - I really have no idea why this came to me. I don't think I signed up for it or entered any giveaways for it. Came from the publisher to my house. Sounds kind of interesting but I am not sure if it's really my thing. We'll see if I get a chance to read it.
