Uncovered (35): The Lost Girl

Hello, everyone! This week's Uncovered pick is The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna. This is one of those covers that looks very simple but has a lot more going on. I really love the silhouette of the girl and the images within it. I am not sure if the building up by her head is a famous location or not but it's a little mysterious and ominous looking. I really like the clouds and flat landscape in the background. They are a nice counterpoint the the figure, which has a lot going on. The font is sort of retro looking and reminds me a little bit of old neon signs. I am not sure why but it gives the book an old school noir feel. This is one I would definitely want to pick up based on the cover along.

Has anyone read the book yet? Do the insides live up to the promise of the cover?

  1. This cover is so cool, I had to buy a print copy. (Still haven't read it yet, though.) You're right that the font does give it a noir feel. The whole cover has a mysterious vibe that makes me want to know more. I love this cover feature!
